As Australia bids farewell to the blistering weather and welcomes the refreshing autumn, camping enthusiasts are gearing up for their off-road adventures. It’s the perfect time for families and solo adventurers alike to hitch up their camper trailers and SUVs and embark on exciting journeys into the wild. For those considering a camper trailer purchase this year, Hardkorr Campers has announced the Xplorer 2.3, which is making rounds in the blogosphere.

First spotted by New Atlas, the Hardkorr Campers’ Xplorer 2.3 is a top-of-the-line off-road camper trailer, tailor-made for a family of four. The Xplorer 2.3 boasts an impressive 2,200 kg ATM rating, allowing you to pack essentials without worrying about exceeding weight limits. This means you can stay off the beaten path longer, bringing everything you need for the journey without compromise.

This 13-foot-long camper trailer comes equipped with a steel galvanized chassis, 265/75 R16 mud-terrain tires (with two full-size spares), dual big-bore gas shocks, and heavy-duty wheel bearings, designed to handle rugged trails and tough terrains. The trailer boasts a lightweight aluminum body, ensuring it can be towed by nearly any off-road-capable vehicle.

The Xplorer 2.3 has enhanced water capacity with an extra 70-liter water tank, bringing the total to a whopping 170 liters. This ensures that you’ll have enough water for showers, cooking, cleaning, and staying hydrated, allowing you to stay off-grid longer.

On the left side of the trailer, there’s a roomy dual-gullwing kitchen setup, complete with a full-height pantry with adjustable shelves, a slide-out induction cooktop with two burners, a sink, and a fridge slide that fits fridge/freezers up to 115 liters. Both the fridge and stove/sink units are equipped with worktops offering plenty of space for meal prep.

The right side of the trailer boasts 3,450 liters of storage space for all your camping gear ensuring a hassle-free and comfortable camping experience. Other features include a powerful, upgraded electrical system, equipped with two 135-Ah lithium batteries and a 3,000-Watt inverter.

On the design front, the camper includes a built-in air compressor and inflatable tent for quick setup. The only issue with camper trailers that have a rooftop tent or inflatable annex is the amount of time it takes to set them up. The Xplorer 2.3, however, isn’t a hassle in that regard. According to the manufacturer, it sets up in less than ten minutes with an electronic opening and air tent. Once it’s set up, you’ll enjoy a spacious double queen-size rooftop tent that comfortably fits four adults, with ample space to store your bedding while on the go.

Akin to other Xplorer models, the 2.3 Family version comes with an integrated staircase. The patent-pending feature consists of steps integrated into the front frame, along with a small removable staircase that attaches to the frame and extends to the ground. This design seems far more stable and easier to navigate than a steep ladder, making it ideal for small children and inebriated adults.

As per the maker, the standard retail price is AUD 44,990 (about $28,000). However, it’s currently available for AUD 39,990 (about $24,900), offering excellent value for anyone looking to elevate their off-road adventures.
