Cheapest and easiest methods to do away with grass stains

Salt method

Due to the easy availability of salt, this method is considered the simplest and cheapest to eliminate unwanted spots from a carpet. The recipe is simple: Mix a tablespoon of salt in a glass of water and prepare a solution. Make sure the water you use is cold. First, put the stained carpet into the prepared solution, then use a piece of cloth, towel, or a sponge to rub the spot until it fades away. This remedy is considered versatile as you can use it for the removal of ink and wine stains as well.

Denatured alcohol method

Alcohol can be used to remove grass and flower stains from a carpet. Take denatured alcohol and a cloth or a sponge. Dip it in alcohol and rub it on the stained carpet until the spot fades or disappears completely. For washing the stain, it is better to use warm water and some quality detergent or soap. This is advisable only if the fabric isn’t very delicate. The stains on clothes can be treated the same way.

Ammonia method

Did you know that ammonia could discolor a grass stain in minutes? Ammonia has many unique properties that help eliminate stains of fat, blood, and wine. It also helps to do away with spots and traces of iron. Soak a sponge in an ammonium solution and wipe the stain with it until it fades. After that, dip the stained cloth in cold water for some time. Leave it to dry. Vola! The stain has disappeared.

Using a vacuum cleaner

There is no need to bleach or wash the stains using a harsh detergent, which can damage the fabric and color of your rug. You can get rid of grass stains simply by using a canister vacuum cleaner, as it guarantees a safe, easy, and less time-consuming cleaning. Moreover, it removes grass stains and other types of dirt from your carpet with its suction function; treats colored and gentle fabric safely; doesn’t require the use of bleach or detergent; and allows you to avoid the need to rinse.

White Vinegar

White vinegar is one of the sure-shot methods to get rid of any sort of stains. To remove the grass stains, you need to vacuum the carpet to get out any grass debris or dirt, then apply a little bit of laundry detergent to the stain, gently blotting it with a towel to remove as much as you can get. Afterward, clean the stain with water and continue dabbing. Then use an ammonia-based solution to blot the stain. When the solution is mostly absorbed, pour white vinegar on the stain and keep dabbing until the area is dry.
