IKEA is no longer just a furniture giant – it is steadily getting into the consumer electronics segment. The company’s recent launches, including the VÄSTMÄRKE Qi2 wireless chargers and Teklan speakers, validate this point. The Swedish brand also showcased its latest products at the world-renowned tech fair CES, where it introduced new products such as the Kallsup portable speaker. Like many of IKEA’s recent releases, this speaker stands out with a minimalist design and vibrant color options.

Designed in the form of a tiny cube, the speaker measures just two inches on each side. Tom’s Guide, which got a hands-on look at the device at IKEA’s booth, compared its size to a second- or third-generation Echo Dot Mini. With its compact, Rubik’s cube-like appearance, the speaker is designed to add a pop of color to any space. Each speaker has two buttons on the top for Bluetooth pairing and controlling the music playback, like play or pause.

IKEA has given a cool feature of syncing up to 100 of these speakers together, which can be really helpful to create a surround-sound-like experience. You just need to place them in different corners of your home and enjoy audio coming from different directions. There are no volume controls, and it turns off after a certain period of inactivity. A USB-C port is also included on the back to recharge the speaker.

While IKEA has not yet revealed official details of the sound output or battery capacity of the Kallpsup speaker, you can expect everything standard. IKEA is betting on the affordable pricing of the speaker to attract customers. This $10 portable speaker is a budget-friendly option for those who just want it for casual music listening, whether at home or on a camping trip.
