We informed you about the Magnetic Spirit wall shelves with endless customization abilities yesterday, and today we have another way to let you have a new painting on the wall every day, this courtesy the all new PIXEL interactive LED art display. Controlled by an Android device, the interactive LED picture frame is capable of displaying retro pixel art in form of image or animation. The PIXEL comprises of over 1,000 LEDs, with each LED equaling a pixel for 32×32 pixel resolution.
For now the 15″ x 15″ LED PIXEL display is designed to take orders from an Android phone or tablet, which syncs with the frame over Bluetooth. Free PIXEL apps are available on Google Play, get over and install one. The cool thing about the picture frame, which will be available in gold, ornate frame in April and (much demanded) black frame in May, is that it acts as a regular mirror when the art display is powered off.
The LED PIXEL is on Kickstrater and has very handsomely crossed its funding goal. This isn’t only possible because of the artistic ability of the PIXEL display, but also because it includes a 2-way mirror which hides with in a proximity sensor, which makes the picture frame interactive art installations. The proximity sensor detects a person and when someone is near the PIXEL, and it automatically changes the art or animation displayed. Hit the jump to see the PIXEL in action.
