We all love having pets at home, but we can’t take them everywhere we go. This is where the Joobie AI companion robot comes into play. Unlike a living pet, it is designed to serve you on the go. It is a pocket-sized interactive AI companion robot designed to act as an “AI with a soul.” You can clip it on your shoulder or attach it to your handbag, and it responds to your touch with stress-relieving reactions. Most interestingly, it features a hairy look that is full of personality and looks like a cute owl.

Joobie pet robot is built to sense and respond to human emotions just like a living companion. It offers more than 10 emotional expressions. It understands and responds to every touch differently. There is an onboard high-density tactile sensing system that enables it to detect the contact place, touch movement, and the amount of pressure applied. Its HB electronic skin with built-in motion and orientation awareness helps Joobie respond to how it is held, moved, and carried.

The pet robot uses AI to grow its personality over time and become your personalized companion based on how you interact with it. The pet robot can also recognize familiar everyday words as part of its interactive behaviour system. The more you share about yourself, the more personalized it becomes.

The pet robot comes with a mobile app that acts as its digital brain and “eyes,” using your phone’s GPS to track shared memories and adventures on a world map. The app also monitors Joobie’s personality growth (MBTI) and lets you manage its emotional status and digital collections.

The pet robot comes with NFC-enabled plush outfits that sync with the app, bringing the exact look into digital mode through the mobile app. Its tiny form factor is another cool aspect that lets you carry it in a pocket, place it on a desk as a “buddy,” or even attach it to computer screens in offices. As per the maker, the pet toy comes with a 1200 mAh battery that can run it for 8-12 hours on a single charge.

Joobie pet robot comes in two versions: Basic and Pro, with a similar size of 6.1 x 3.9 x 6.3 inches and a weight of 250 grams. Both models come with an eggshell charging dock, but only the Pro model comes with the outfits and magnetic shoulder mount for an additional cost. There are also optional accessories, such as a crossbody bag and a plush cleaner.

If you want to get one, you can pre-order the Basic model for $159 and the Pro model for $179 through the Kickstarter campaign.
