No one understands the fact that tap and bottled water cannot be trusted with your health like Kara Water, a breakthrough startup that’s making headlines globally with award-winning “Air-to-Water” technology.
Hot on the heels of winning their second TIME “Best Invention” award, a rare accomplishment only achieved by 15 other iconic companies in history (such as Apple, Tesla, and Samsung), Kara Water has just unveiled the next generation of their flagship Air-to-Water device, Kara Pure 2, which produces up to 10 liters (approx. 20 bottles) of alkaline-rich water daily. No messy refills. No installation or plumbing. And no wasteful plastic bottles. All you need to do is plug the device in, and it instantly starts to pull mineral-rich, clean drinking water from thin air.
For Kara Water CEO and Co-Founder Cody Soodeen, it’s a practical response to a global reality. Clean drinking water is “not just a third-world problem,” he says. “Even in America, millions deal with water contamination, microplastics, and other pollutants every day. I knew there had to be a better way.”
His “better way” is built on biomimicry. The Kara Pure 2 draws its inspiration from the Namib Desert’s Stenocara gracilipes beetle that survives in one of the driest places on Earth by harvesting water from the air on its textured shell. Kara Water’s patented AirDrive technology borrows the principle and scales it up; extracting humidity from the atmosphere, purifying it, then enriching it with minerals like calcium, magnesium, and zinc to create 9.2+ pH alkaline-rich water.
Building on the success of Kara Pure, Kara Pure 2 is refined in form and function. The new device adds a 40% larger touchscreen, a more spacious 64-ounce pour area that fits big bottles and flasks, and “Ultrafiltration Technology” to enhance taste and remove 99.99% of impurities. The stainless-steel exterior is designed to blend into modern kitchens and offices, while the plug-and-play setup makes it viable for apartments, offices, and even off-grid use.
With filter changes required only twice annually and the ability to pull up to 10 liters of clean water a day, the Kara Pure 2 aims to revolutionize clean water access and make Air-to-Water technology a must-have smart home appliance. Since its inception in 2021, Kara Water has produced more than a million liters of clean water globally and is currently featured in hot spots like Hilton’s luxury Conrad Hotel in New York City. Kara Pure 2 is now live on Kickstarter, where super early bird backers can get the Kara Pure 2 for $3,899, 35% off of retail price.
