The Lattice chair looks really unique thanks to its woven seat and backrest. Combining the flexibility of bamboo and the strength of wood, Taiwanese designer Chen Kuan-Cheng has designed this cool chair that symbolizes the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures. Its back and armrests flow downward in a beautiful lattice pattern, combining wood and bamboo craft.

The chair is crafted by combining Taiwan’s Moso bamboo and bentwood together. It features a single-sided armrest that allows users to sit in a variety of ways. The weight of the chair is only 4kg, but it can withstand more than 120kg weight. Elasticity in the woven seat of the Lattice chair ensures comfort while its lighter weight allows moving it around more easily, even by elderly persons.

It is a woven bamboo and wood armchair with shape of the backrest inspired by a waterfall. The project takes the challenge of bending wood to make furniture. The Lattice chair is the winner of Platinum A’ Design Award 2021. It can be purchased for $1075 from the designboom shop.
