In 2001, JRR Tolkien’s first chapter of the epic saga, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, jumped off the page and onto the silver screens. The Peter Jackson movie was well-loved and has stood the test of time, similar to the Star Wars and Harry Potter franchises. Ahead of the movie’s 25th anniversary in December 2026, the LEGO Group has unveiled the LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith set. One of the biggest LOTR building sets so far: It is an 8,278-piece recreation of the iconic White City of Minas Tirith.

The huge LOTR set includes a hybrid microscale and minifigure-scale design, with key locations such as the citadel and throne room. You also get to play with Gandalf the White, Aragorn as King Elessar, Faramir, and the not-so-pleasant Denethor is also there. This brick set will be available via LEGO Insiders Early Access from June 1, with a limited-time gift with purchase offer of the Grond battering ram set.

The impressive building set is designed for adult fans and collectors with highly detailed specifics from the movie. It is designed as a striking display model that captures the towering city with its layered walls and iconic citadel, evoking cherished memories for hardcore fans. Also known as the Tower of Guard, the iconic location comes to life as an ambitious model, which fans will spend hours and days putting together. It is like building the Death Star, but for LOTR fanatics.

The absolutely massive LEGO Minas Tirith reaches for the sky with a soaring height of 23.5 inches, 24.5 inches in width, and 14.5 inches in depth. Such generous dimensions allow opportunities to play out various scenarios from the movie, enacting fight scenes, the pyre scene, and much more.

The set comes with 10 minifigs: Gandalf the White, Faramir, Denethor, Peregrin Took, Aragorn as King Elessar, Arwen, a legendary Shadowfax horse figure, and four Soldiers of Gondor. Painstaking details include themed accessories such as Gondor helmets, shields, and Aragorn’s crown.

Architectural features, however, become the most detailed elements. You get to build and enjoy the expansive microscale cityscape with meticulous interior scenes. The throne room of the citadel is one of the best highlighted parts in the set, rightly so, as pivotal moments from the story unfolded there.

The general release for the set is slated for June 4, 2026, with a price tag of $649.99. The LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith set will be a summer treat for the fans.
