Chinese design brand Light with Shade had created the Light of City art collection in order to revive Hong Kong’s retro neon signs and urban culture. After getting a good response in its exhibitions at different galleries, the brand launched the Light of City projection lighting collection, which is currently being crowd-funded on Kickstarter.

If you were fascinated by the neon signs on the streets of Hong Kong, that came to be the highlight of the city, then it is your chance to take one of these lamps home and recreate the Hong Kong’s streets indoors.

Each lamp is a mixture of English and Chinese words, which shows up the theory of the city – “East meets West.” The patterns on each side of the lamp are carved using the CNC laser cut technique. The material choice is between copper and acrylic.

The lamp creates beautiful projections on walls, which furthermore enhances its worth. Whether you place the Light of City projection lamp in a living room or bedroom, it will create a stylish atmosphere.  There are different sizes and models to choose from. You can get one by backing the project for a minimum of (HK$348) $44 in June 2020.

The lamp design is a result of intensive research for one year. The design team had visited Hong Kong’s old districts to study the word font and size of these outdoor neon signs.
