How about bringing LED lighting, notions of recycling and your wine collection all together in a single conception? Well, that is exactly what Kickstarter funded ‘LUMI Wine Wall‘ hopes to accomplish, with its remarkable handcrafted artistry and upcycled nature. California based winemaker, Dale Rorabaugh has ingeniously created this modular wine rack out of used wine barrel staves, arranged in a simple yet elegant pattern. However, the real visual ingredient of the scope is the integrated lighting factor, which is achieved by Super Bright LED technology. So, in a nutshell, the LUMI Wine Wall is an illuminated modular wine rack that has a special degree of sculptural value.
The staves used for the conception have been salvaged from French and American Oak wine barrels. The structural pattern of the rack is pretty unobtrusive, with the modules of wine-bottle holding staves being arranged vertically. In this regard, the user can add as many staves as he/she needs, thus improving the modularity of the design. Furthermore, the whole wine rack is to be assembled along a wall-mounted aircraft grade anodized aluminum bar (supplied with the rack). This makes the arrangement more flexible so that it can be fitted within any home decor scope.
Anyhow, the ‘piece de resistance’ of the LUMI Wine Wall is the illumination itself. Utilizing energy efficient LED technology, the lighting offers a unique play of shadow and glow. This contrasting perspective subtly brings your wine collection into the focus. The natural curvature of the staves also adds to this effect, by deftly projecting the aura of ‘air suspended’ wine bottles.
