Magpie table lamp designed by Sha Yang is inspired by the long tail bird of fortune that symbolizes profound happiness per the ideologies of the Chinese paintings. Thus, the lamp is crafted with the intent to bring positivity and vitality to your home décor. As its name suggests, the lighting solution has a morphological structure, giving it the resemblance of a bionic bird ready to soar high in the sky.
The Magpie Table Lamp has a cylindrical body with a button attached to its bottom. Upon touching the switch, the three different forms get activated. The first form of the lamp has a compact shape and a mild light source opening. The second form has a vertical head top and the third form opens up completely with two wings resembling that of a bird.
The stature of this shape-shifting lamp is conducive to all kinds of spaces such as the bedroom nightstand, living room shelf, and your work desk. Magpie measures 16 inches high and has a base height of 11 inches. The length of the head and tail of the lamp is 12 inches, while its wings span 6 inches long.
The Magpie table lamp can morph into different forms of the fuselage upon touching. In the first stage, Magpie lamp creates a retracted state in which the light passes to get in contact with the second form. Then the second form automatically gets in contact with the vertical side of the lamp, resulting in the light becoming brighter. With a press contact for the third time, Magpie spreads its wings and raises its head, giving an aesthetic look of a bird getting ready for take-off.
