When it’s scorching hot outside, most of us rely upon air conditioners to stay cool indoors; however, there are only a few devices for personal cooling outdoors. You may remember the QOOLA wearable air conditioner that just provides cool sensation with built-in stainless plates around the neck. There is a new contender in the market that is touted to be world’s first wearable AC that actually blows cold air around your body.

Entitled as Metaura Pro, it’s a portable AC that can blow persistent cool air, 7 degrees Fahrenheit lower than the surrounding ambient temperature in fan mode. The device can reduce body temperature by 18 degrees Fahrenheit so that you can feel refreshed even during heat waves.

It can even automatically adjust the cooling based on surrounding temperature with built-in sensors and follow up with the temperature preset by the user. The device also comes with a companion app that offers full control over its features.

Micro AC technology

This wearable AC is integrated with 121 pairs of semiconductors that make thermocouple pairs to generate a Peltier effect that transforms hot temperatures into cold temperatures.

When you wear the collar on your neck, it delivers a cool sensation on an area of 13,745 square millimeters for keeping your body cool. You can even adjust the temperature within the range of 60-130F per your preferences.

There is a built-in twin-turbo PWM motor integrated with an aerodynamic air duct to form a three dimensional encircling air outlet. It’s also connected with a high-speed axial cooling fan which dissipates part of the heated airflow and blows gentle air.

Where does the body heat go?

The wearable AC includes a VC plate with a liquid-cooled mechanism for heat equalization. When heat releases from the body, the liquid within the structure vaporizes and transfers to its condensation layer for cooling. Thanks to encircling air outlets and 26 pieces of lightweight cooling fan, the excess heat dissipates from its surface it is touched.

It heats too!

Metaura Pro wearable AC not only provides cooling but it has a heating function as well. In the winter season, it can warm the wearer’s body up to a cozy and comfortable temperature. It means you can wear it around your neck when the climate gets chilly.

Battery life

Metaura Pro wearable cooling collar has a good battery life. On a single charge, the 6000 mAh fast-charge battery can run it for up to eight hours in the fan mode. It is easy to charge with a USB-C connector and takes only 2.5 hours to get fully charged.

Pricing

Want to get your hands on this Indiegogo-funded wearable cooling-cum-heating device? If so, you can buy it for $249 from the official website and even Amazon.
