Italian architect Michele Perlini showcased a new luxury portable home concept at the Brera Design District in Milan Design Week 2019. Dubbed NO.MADE, this is a prefabricated micro home which can be placed at any location. It can be used as a vacation cabin in a remote location or as a luxury backyard cabin to enjoy the outdoors. The NO.MADE can even function as a houseboat for you, if you may.

This environmentally conscious CasaClima certified prefab home measures only 3 x 9 meters and is supported by a structural frame made in weathering steel. Really convenient to transport and assemble, this micro home features a large glass façade fitted in an aluminum frame which is made particularly to allow residents to enjoy uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape.

The façade is made from high-density mineral panels, with very low transmittance and fiber cement layer for reliable energy efficiency. The interior is claimed to be naturally heated during the winter (thanks to highly insulated aluminum frames) while automatic sun breakers protect it from excessive heat during summers. In addition, there are air stops and self-expanding strips protecting the house from elements, making it quite a weatherproof structure.

The interior space looks luxurious in white with contrasting warm touches of wood. It boasts an open floor space divided into a living area, a sleeping area and a bathroom, each separated by sliding wood panels.

Matching the environmental concern on the outside with the furniture indoor, Perlini has designed the sofa and bed from solid American walnut and accessories such as the magazine rack, tray, tablet holder, reading led light, cigar holder and other things of comfort from recycled plexiglass or corten steel.

The bathroom has a freestanding sink, chromotherapy shower (with color adjusting lights) and a full-length window which makes one feel as if he were bathing under the blue sky. The mini kitchen features a dining table while spotlights and light cuts in the home’s ceiling create a soft ambiance that enhances the living environment indoors.

Perlini’s NO.MADE portable luxury house looks inviting and comfortable but you may have to wait long since he has no plans of setting it out for purchase just yet.
