Here is a chance to live like a gangster! Live in this ultimate five-star resort, which was once a house of famous Columbian drug lord and narcoterrorist Pablo Escobar. The gangster’s house is located in the resort town of Mexico, Tulum.  Recently, Lio Malca, a New York-based art dealer, renovated and turned the luxury accommodation into a five-star hotel using things he collected over the past few years.

The property was vacant after Pablo’s death in 1993. It was rediscovered in 2003 and purchased by Lio Malca in 2012. In 2015, he launched it as a nine-bedroom private resort, only open for his family and friends. Now, this striking property is open for everyone as a five-star hotel. To make the resort one of the most luxurious resort of Tulum, Lio expanded his resort and covered over 180 meters of beach around the dwelling.

Now, this striking property is open for everyone as a five-star resort. To make it one of the most luxurious resorts in Tulum, Lio expanded the resort area over 180 meters of beach.

The 24-room resort Casa Malca, welcomes its guests to enjoy a wonderful beach life and view the art gallery inside the lobby. The art gallery is the major attraction of the resort. It features beautiful paintings, sculptures, and furniture by some of the most popular modern artists and designers like Basquiat and KAWS. As the art across the lobby is changed frequently, returning guests can enjoy different work every time they visit the property.

Another highlight of this tropical resort is an underground swimming pool and steam room that light up in different colors resembling popular James Turrell installation. The ground floor features a classy bar lined with Keith Haring-themed wallpaper.

Every room is well insulated and designed carefully keeping in mind Tulum’s hot weather conditions so that your stay at the resort doesn’t spoil your beachside vacation. Along with offering an art-filled luxury accommodation, the resort offers beautiful views of long coastal line and distant horizons.

You can rent this magnificent accommodation for $1400 per night.
