Pumpkin carving is an annual tradition, which anyone who enjoys Halloween must follow without fail. There are a number of Jack-o’-lantern carving ideas to sift through when picking your favorite. The one idea that we think will create that much-desired creepy and sick (literally) effect in your Halloween decorations for 2023, is a puking pumpkin carving. The carving tutorial here for a pumpkin throwing up suggests how to carve it in three incredibly easy steps. All you need are carving tools, a pumpkin, and a simple pattern.

Step 1: First you need to open up the pumpkin to get that gore and throwing-up feel. You need to carve a hole at the bottom, open up the top, and empty the pumpkin innards, making sure that you get out every bit of seeds, pulp, and fibrous strands. Keep the pumpkin insides on a plate next to you because we are going to need that later.

Step 2: Then draw eyes, nose, and mouth of the pumpkin shell. You can carve raised eyebrows, squinted eyes, and a gaping mouth.

Step 3: Once carved, place the innards at the mouth opening, cascading onto the chin and the surface underneath as if the pumpkin is puking.

There you go, your puking pumpkin carving is ready to adorn your porch and scare the trick-or-treaters. Follow the full tutorial below:
