Reolink Redefines Home Security With Local AI at CES 2026

Focuses on local AI processing, longer battery life and low-maintenance

At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Reolink made it clear that the future of home and small-business security is smarter, more private, and far less dependent on the cloud. The company revealed a security lineup that focuses on local AI processing, longer battery life, and cameras that can see more while asking less from users in terms of maintenance.

The most talked-about announcement was the Reolink AI Box, an on-device hub designed to bring advanced AI features to both new and existing Reolink cameras. Instead of sending video clips to the cloud for analysis, the AI Box processes everything locally, handling detection, search, and event analysis right at home. This approach reduces delays, improves reliability, and addresses growing privacy concerns. Designed as a plug-and-play add-on, the box works with most Reolink cameras and NVRs, allowing even older models to gain smarter capabilities without a full hardware upgrade.

What makes the AI Box stand out is how naturally it interacts with users. It supports prompt-based alerts, letting people describe situations in everyday language, such as spotting unusual activity or specific actions. Video search also becomes far more intuitive, with users able to type simple phrases to quickly find relevant moments in recorded footage.

Instead of scanning through hours of video, the system delivers organized results with clear visual cues. On top of that, the AI generates readable event descriptions and severity levels, helping users instantly understand what matters and what can be ignored. Smart summaries further pull insights from multiple cameras, offering an easy-to-digest overview of activity over time.

Alongside the AI Box, Reolink introduced the OMVI Series of triple-lens security cameras, led by the 24MP OMVI X16 PoE. This camera combines a wide panoramic view with a powerful PTZ lens, allowing users to monitor large areas while still zooming in on fine details. With full pan and tilt movement, optical zoom, and synchronized smart tracking, the camera can follow subjects smoothly and automatically, giving users both context and clarity in real time.

Reolink also leaned into convenience with new battery-powered cameras and doorbells developed in partnership with Qualcomm, offering significantly longer battery life than typical wireless devices. Rounding out the lineup is a new solar floodlight camera that can run on just an hour of sunlight per day and continue operating for months, even without regular sun exposure.

Together, these announcements show Reolink’s clear direction after CES 2026: smarter security that works locally, lasts longer, and quietly fits into everyday life without constant charging, subscriptions, or complexity.
