Filmmaker Matthew Scott Hunter has creatively transformed his Roomba robotic vacuum into an autonomous housekeeping droid that sweeps and mops floors. And this is one droid any Star Wars fan would love to have at home.

The R9-D9 casing is made of a Star Wars-themed trashcan, wood, and paperboard. There are two legs with wheels to support the structure and also to resemble the original droid. He has also fitted a small desk fan powered by a rechargeable battery for head movements. There is an internal Bluetooth speaker for its vocalizations and also a light for that realistic feel like the original droid from the movie.

The R9-D9 droid can also be controlled with remote control. With all the modifications, the total weight of the droid is bumped up to 14 lbs, which may have some effect on its performance. Nonetheless, natives of the galaxy far, far away would love to have such a droid roam around their living room, taking care of the cleaning tasks for them.
