I often thought that the tiny house lifestyle was great but in one aspect – privacy! Sure, it lets you discard the clutter and teaches you how to live with only the necessities, making you more self-reliant but living in close quarters can be tricky as you get little to no privacy. But there are builders that through smart area utilization provide the sense of personal space within compact configurations. When I came across Klassen tiny house by Canadian Mint Tiny House Company, its clever three-bedroom layout with a considerable amount of personal space impressed me instantly.

With an imposing length of 41 feet, this gooseneck tiny house manages to fit two loft bedrooms, one gooseneck room, and a spacious living area that can be made into a makeshift sleeping station. Its 8.5-foot width keeps it well within road legality, while the 13.5-foot height allows the home to feel spacious and not constricted at all.

There are two entrances to Mint Tiny House’s signature style: one at the side and one at the front. The dwelling is dotted with big and small windows making it well-lit with sunlight during the day.

A fixed breakfast bar window makes for an engaging mealtime as you get to enjoy the views outside. The farmhouse-style kitchen, while compact, has modern amenities, making it one of the most functional spaces in the house. A laundry setup has been cleverly hidden inside a closet that keeps things tidy and organized.

Adjacent is the bathroom. It has a shower stall, a toilet, and a vanity sink. Outside the bathroom, a short flight of stairs leads to the gooseneck. The gooseneck room is spacious and can be used for various purposes; basically, it is designed as a bedroom with big windows and a small closet.

As for the loft spaces, there are two. One sits above the bathroom and can be reached through a removable ladder from the kitchen. It provides partial private space with a safety wall, can fit a queen-size bed, and has a small dresser area. The second loft can be accessed from the kitchen via a storage-integrated staircase. If I were living in the Klassen, I would use this loft for recreational activities. Maybe make it into an art studio.

Underneath this loft is the generous living area. It is a nice space to put a convertible sofa to accommodate two more people. It can fit a portable fireplace and a coffee table for a more homey feel.

The Klassen tiny house is currently up for sale at CAD 173,000 (roughly $133,000). So if you are on the prowl for a micro-dwelling, I recommend you check it out, especially for a man with a growing family.
