Sleeping in hammocks is not a modern trend, as it’s been followed for years. Suspended tents or hammocks come to life when you want to sleep in mid-air away from all creepy bugs that keep on crawling on the earth. They are not only popular for comfort, but also for their health benefits. Though you may find plenty of options in the market, none of them reinterprets the dull traditional design. In 2015, Colorado-based Company TreePod Hanging Treehouses LLC (MyTreePod) tried to change the concept with TreePod, described as a hanging treehouse and once again they are back with its upgraded version. According to the design team, it combines the luxury of a cabana with portability and suspension of a hammock for ultimate relaxation whether you are at home or on a camping trip.
Based on the feedback of the previous model, the design team has nicely refined the new version. The dual ring construction of TreePod helps to make it spacious and comfortable. It is available in two materials, the cabana version comes with mesh walls to offer a 360-degree view and get in enough fresh air while providing enough shade with the fabric top.
As for the lounger version, its canvas walls provide more privacy to make it perfect for using as an individual workspace. Unlike most of the hammocks, these innovative hammocks need only one hanging point. Both come with a fabric pod, hand strap, frames, quick link, hanging rope and guy-line; so all you need is find the perfect hanging spot.
TreePod is also super easy-to-use, you just need to zip up the provided frame with the openings of the pod, secure the hanging rope to its top and a tree to enjoy floating in a comfortable hanging cocoon. With its UV-treated canvas durable body secured to two steel frames, both versions of Treepod can support up to 500 pounds weight. Most interestingly, it can be packed just like a camping tent, which makes it ideal camping accessory for outdoors.
Currently, the new TreePod is raising funds through a Kickstarter campaign, so anyone wanting to purchase one can pledge the project for a minimum of US$188 to get a 5-Ft lounger or cabana version.
