Famous Italian design brands, Poltrona Frau and Fornasetti, have joined hands for the very first time to create a reimagined version of the classic Vanity Fair XC Armchair. This is a limited-edition furniture piece that will be showcased at Salone del Mobile 2024.

The armchair features Fornasetti’s exclusive artworks with the Sun and Moon rising above the clouds. The Sun is printed on the front while the moon is on the back of the armchair. Even the sides of the armchair have artistic designs in white-gray color. Limited to just 50 examples, the design would honor Poltrona Frau’s 2024 Imagine Collection, and go on sale for $12,500 apiece.

Vanity Fair XC Armchair uses the silk screen technique to digitally print designs on leather for the first time. This form of printing is mostly used in the fashion industry, but its usage in furniture has allowed Poltrona Frau to carefully replicate Fornasetti’s hand-drawn art, to give users an amazing tactile sensation.

Sustainability has also been considered with the use of Pelle Frau Impact-Less leather for upholstery; it is produced with very little water and chemical usage in its tanning and harnessing process. The other materials used to create the new armchair include solid seasoned beechwood, steel, ashwood, jute, brass, goose down, polyurethane foam, rubberized and vegetable horsehair.

Every armchair comes with a signed certificate of authenticity, an exclusive leather clutch, and a limited edition leather keychain to go with it. Preorders for the Vanity Fair XC Armchair have started on Poltrona Frau’s website. Select Poltrona Frau stores will begin providing the Vanity Fair XC Armchair starting April 10, 2024, which would coincide well with the official showcasing of the furniture piece at Salone del Mobile.

The Vanity Fair XC Armchair has been quite popular among furniture lovers, and this limited edition recreation of the timeless classic in white/gray takes creativity and design to a new level. The collaboration where two famous Italian design brands have created an armchair is a defining moment reflected in the exclusive and eye-catching use of material and novel technology.
