Every little kid has a dream of having a personal playhouse. There are many kind of playhouses made for kids, but Doherty Design Studio has made ‘Vardo Hut’ a playhouse designed with modern details. By this design, the studio has changed the entire perspective about the appearance of a playhouse. The Vardo Hut was designed for Melbourne International Flower & Garden show, and was auctioned off to raise money for preventing youth homelessness, under the organization Kids Under Cover.
This modern playhouse made of timber looks like a traditional Gypsy wagon. Its overall shape, including curved roof with striped outer walls leave a nomadic impression. Small vines and other creeper plants coming slightly out from the walls perfectly blends this playhouse with the natural surroundings of the backyard where it is placed normally. Children are free to make their own type of playhouse with the hanging plants or other items too.
It has multiple round doors and windows in different sizes that make it a playful space for kids. There is a comfortable bench inside and some shelving for children to keep their toys and other things. A ladder by the side shelves leads to upside loft with net for relaxation and other adventure plays. The clear roof lets more light enter inside the playhouse.
Vardo Hut allows children to relate themselves with nature, along with experiencing the modern perspective of a playhouse. The playhouse design perfectly enables children to play in a way that develops them physically and mentally.
