If you’ve ever dreamt of waking up to panoramic views of nature without sacrificing the comforts of home, the Venus tiny house by Vagabond Haven might be exactly what you’ve been looking for. This compact yet cleverly designed tiny house from the Swedish builder packs an impressive amount of livability into just 20 square meters (215 square feet), and it can even do it completely off the grid.
Measuring 23 feet long, 9.2 feet wide, and 13.1 feet tall, the Venus tiny house sits on a lightweight trailer and weighs up to 3.5 tonnes. The biggest USP of the tiny home is the flexibility it offers. Similar to Forest, Sofia, and other models in its catalogue, Venus tiny house can be mounted on a trailer for mobility or installed semi-permanently on a plot of land, complete with an optional deck extension.
Another major highlight of the tiny home is its classic gable roofline and expansive panorama windows. This is coupled with cladding of the user’s choice (spruce, ThermoWood, oxygen wood, traditional Japanese Shou Sugi Ban method), depending on dwellers’ preference. Not to mention, a lightweight aluminum roof and winter insulation that round out the exterior package, making the Venus suitable for year-round living in colder climates.
One of Venus’s most notable achievements is fitting two sleeping areas into such a small frame. Rather than including a dedicated living room, the home features a downstairs sleeping space that doubles as a hangout area, with a platform bed, bench seating, storage, and a wall-mounted TV. Other features include blinds that cover the generous glass panels for privacy, and a fold-down table that serves as both a dining spot and a workspace for two.
The other bedroom, accessed by a removable ladder, sits under a low ceiling in the loft and accommodates at least a single bed. Downstairs is the kitchen, which occupies the centre of the home and takes up most of the available floorspace, featuring upper and lower cabinetry, a three-layer oak countertop, an induction or gas cooktop, a small fridge, and a kitchen hood.

At the far end of the home is the bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower, a vanity sink, and a flexible choice between a flush toilet, a composting toilet, a Separett Villa, or a Cinderella incinerating toilet, ideal for off-grid scenarios. The tiny home is off-grid capable. Its off-grid upgrade consists of solar panels and batteries. Other accessories include grey and fresh water tanks, electric radiators, and infrared floor heating, a wood stove, pellet stove, or air-to-air heat pump, covering both on-grid and off-grid needs.
Vagabond Haven has priced Venus at €40,000 (US$47,000). There is no word on delivery for this one, so those interested had better get in touch with the firm directly.
