Veteran builds scale map of China in his terrace garden

Usually people after retirement want to live a life of leisure, but a thoughtful retired teacher Cai Mingxing from Guangdong coastal province of China thought of utilizing his free time, gardening his backyard uniquely. So he worked continuously for one year to design more than 30 feet wide 1:10 scale map of China in his outdoor terrace garden including the islands of South China Sea in a self-made garden pool. International boundaries of this garden are designed in red brick stone, and other national boundaries with white marble. The greens shrubs and plants in the terrace garden are meant to specify the various regions.

Cai has marked every region with a unique sign for easy recognition on first look. This terrace garden with a number of green plants looks great with unique touch of water, and it is a bit elevated using blue tiles to separate the watery areas. He designed it using typical materials, but his creativity and hard work resulted in a beautifully crafted garden that draws attention with the artistically designed China’s map.

Gardening is considered as a great past-time in which entire family can lend a hand and enjoy. But he worked alone to utilize his post-retirement time in beautifying his garden and it got him attention of entire nation, as-well-as other countries too. Such great work of a 75-year old person is a great inspiration for people who always think of trying a hand at gardening.
