Victrola’s streaming turntables have enjoyed their sync-up with Sonos for a couple of years, now the high-end classic record player manufacturer is adding Roon and UPnP integration to its all-new Stream Sapphire turntable so it can stream records to almost any device at home.

Victrola unveiled the Stream Sapphire during CES 2024 for a whopping $1,499 tag, which for the newbies and budget takers is going to be just too much to shell. For the vinyl lovers who have – or haven’t already – experienced Victrola’s unwavering focus on wireless playback would leverage the far wider and comprehensive connectivity options of the new turntable.

The Stream Sapphire is of course compatible with Sonos, but it can also play sound wirelessly to all sorts of audio devices including speakers, soundbars, smartphones, and laptops within a home ecosystem. This streaming to different devices will happen directly from the expensive turntable, you do not need additional equipment.

Built to produce the clearest audio possible, Stream Sapphire supports 24-bit / 48kHz lossless FLAC audio. The sound delivery of the modern record player is complemented by its sleek design and plush appearance. It is built on a low-resonance wooden plinth with sound-dampening adjustable feet, brushless motor, carbon fiber tonearm and Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge built on a removable headshell.

Touted as an “audiophile-level wireless vinyl solution” the VictrolaStream Sapphire is meant to “enjoy vinyl no matter where the listener is in their home.” With the first information, it does vouch to do that effectively for an exorbitant price. Whether you like it or not, the Stream Sapphire turntable will be available in the spring of 2024.
