It’s been months since I last worked out. Reason? Well, there are plenty, to be honest. I wake up late, sleep late, and the rest of my day is either consumed by work or family get-togethers. And if there’s one thing that ends up suffering amid all this chaos and routine, it’s my body. Fortunately, I’ve realized that working out is just as essential as any of these activities, and all I need is a portable home gym to help me get back in shape. Thankfully, I came across the xplate modular Weight Training System on Kickstarter, which has been gaining considerable attention online lately.

Currently in the crowdfunding stage, this innovative system enables users to perform a wide range of exercises, from kettlebell training and weightlifting to resistance band training, all with one compact, versatile device. “With the ability to focus on specific muscle groups, xplate enhances your workout efficiency, whether you’re aiming for strength, endurance, or flexibility,” the company claims.

The system features a sleek five-piece setup that can be configured into kettlebells, curl bars, plates, bands, and more, all conveniently fit into the included carrying case. As per the makers, “xplate is built to last with solid steel plates and a military-grade ceramic coating, ensuring that it can withstand heavy use and maintain its sleek look over time.”

The xplate system includes a central base that holds stackable disc-shaped weight plates, allowing users to adjust the load. The M model supports up to 33 lbs, while the larger L model goes up to 65 lbs. Users can switch up their workouts by attaching kettlebell handles, an EZ curl bar, or a straight bar. It also comes with a pulley system and elastic resistance bands that can generate up to 300 lbs of resistance, making it a powerful all-in-one training tool.

This comes as a big relief for busy folks like me who don’t find time for the gym or space for bulky machines at home. “We designed xplate after realizing that most people fall short not because of motivation, but because access, time, and space get in the way. Our goal wasn’t to reinvent fitness; it was to make it more accessible, efficient, and enjoyable again,” the makers explain.

Complementing the xplate compact weight system is an accompanying app that offers access to more than 150 exercises. All-in-all, the xplate is perfect for those who want to work out at home, outdoors, or on the go, without the need for multiple pieces of equipment. Those interested can preorder the xplate through Kickstarter for a Super Early Bird price of $478.
