Forget soundbars, leave televisions aside, and keep refrigerators at bay because LG’s biggest CES announcement (in my opinion) is earbuds that put you to sleep.

The South Korean electronics company is all set to launch its smart sleep care solution dubbed ‘brid.zzz’ (Breeze) at CES 2023. If you struggle with jetlag or need pills to sleep, these earbuds from LG should help you sleep better or even someday put you off sedatives.

Compatible with the brid.zzz phone app, the earbuds are meant for real-time sleep tracking. It successfully monitors your sleep stages with the ‘Adaptive Stimulus algorithm’ learning and a built-in EEG sensor. When one plugs in the earbuds, the device directly measures brainwaves and determines their sleep stage.

The application then analyzes users’ sleep data and provides sleeping care solutions based on optimal sleep patterns. In a nutshell, the device and the application collect sleep data which can be used as a personalized sleep stage guide for each user.

The earbuds not only keep tabs on your sleeping pattern but also induces the user to the required sleep stage (that he or she needs) with binaural beats music. This is feasible thanks to the ‘Dynamic Binaural beat which is resonance technology that synchronizes brainwaves with different frequencies of signals heard in the left and right ear,’ LG mentions. Well, that is awesome!

Even though sleeping with a pair of earphones on drives me batty but seeing the ergonomic design of the 6-gram LG buds (as it appears in the picture), I don’t mind giving a try to the wearables that the company calls ‘the world’s first interactive Sleep Tra-ider.’

Sleepwave CIC (Company in company) operated by LG Electronics is responsible for the design and the tech behind this wearable. The company claims brid.zzz has higher accuracy than a regular smartwatch when it comes to sleep tracking. A regular smartwatch only estimates sleep stages according to motion recognition but the LG brid.zzz earbuds put the user to sleep.
