People usually associate the term ‘tiny house’ with a mobile habitat or a micro dwelling on a foundation. Interestingly, neither is there a clear definition of what a tiny house is, nor are any prerequisite rules laid of what gets to be called a tiny house, and whatnot, unless you go nuts and start calling your apartment a tiny home. Having said that, companies are making these micro dwellings, they are being sold everywhere, and the world is going gaga over them.

The American e-commerce company Wayfair is the latest to jump into the bandwagon and is offering tiny house kits, which once adjoined can function as a part-time abode and full-time garden shed. It is to be noted that a tiny house isn’t specifically meant for living, and is being used loosely for ADUs, garden sheds, campers in some instances, and even pods. So, we decided to explore a garden shed this time around that doubles as a tiny house.

Wayfair’s 9 x 9 feet Penthouse Garden Shed is a tiny house that can be your dream ADU or can simply be utilized as a warehouse for storing supplies. However, the tiny house is so much more than just a shed and can serve as an outdoor dining room, a poolside cabana, or a fun backyard retreat for you or the kids. I am not the one making these claims – it’s Wayfair, and going by the reputation of the company, I don’t think there is a shadow of doubt in that.

Well moving on, the tiny house boasts a western red cedar exterior featuring five ends, hence getting the name Penthouse Garden Shed. Made with attractive, sturdy, and beautiful Western Red Cedar (as aforementioned), the tiny house is known for its “natural durability to the elements, meaning, it will remain an attractive feature in your backyard for many years to come,” the company claims.

The garden shed features two functional windows with screens that allow air to enter inside. It is adorned with two flower boxes on each side and features a spacious interior, ideally suited for a couple of people. Not much has been revealed about the interior, but the company mentions, “there are “2 x 4 feet cedar joists and floor runners included for the floor frame, plywood floor included walking on.”

The cedar is durable against weather and is built to withstand rain. Overall, the micro dwelling serves as an excellent backyard retreat for your homies who get to live amid the company of bees and butterflies. In case you want to use it for your personal use, hop on to Wayfair to buy this amazing kit and build a garden shed home for yourself for just $7,654. Luckily, it’s also available on Home Depot for $6,824.
