This vaulted tiny house is a great piece of architecture, created by Chilean architectural studio Tololo Ugarte. Dubbed Catalejo (which means spyglass) the house is a luxurious retreat that flawlessly blends the interior with the exterior, and blurs the line between the two worlds. Situated on the backdrop of a picturesque Chilean landscape, the house provides a peaceful environment with cozy living and extensive outdoor connectivity that nature lovers crave.
The Catalejo vaulted tiny house is surrounded by 300-year-old trees, whereas the land itself is fertile and highly sensitive to the seasons. To protect the fertility of the land, the house is designed with an elevation that refrains from disturbing the soil and allows the vegetation to grow underneath it. When eventually the greenery takes over, the dwelling creates a visual illusion of floating.
The locally sourced timber and glass materials used in construction play a pivotal role in creating a visually appealing and environmentally friendly living space. The house features extra-large high-vaulted ceilings and geometrically-shaped windows that ensure less visual disruption and more outward gazing. The best thing about the design is the breathtaking forest views that you get to enjoy from every possible nook.
The floor plan is open and simple. There are three access points that open to the natural world outside. You will find the space equipped with a combined kitchen featuring an L-shaped countertop with a sink, appliances, and cabinets for storing kitchen clutter. Next to it is a dining set-up and a sun-draped living area with plush seating, a fireplace, and ample aesthetic elements that facilitate serene living.
There is a bathroom tucked behind the kitchen, fitted with a shower, a toilet, and a sink. Who wouldn’t enjoy sleeping in such a desirable bedroom where you can fall asleep to the sounds of nature? The bedroom space has a double glass sliding door, offering seamless connectivity to the outdoors. There is also a snug bed, a rustic cabinet, and lot of rustic elements for a homely flair.
