2025 is going to be a big year for the TV industry. And it could potentially be a make-or-break year too. When I say TV, I don’t mean the idiot box you used to sit in front of and watch Christmas Movies all day long. I say TVs that are smart enough to stream your favorite program at any odd hour and sleek enough to fit in a briefcase. While it would be quite ambiguous of me to state that televisions are dead, but they are surely in a transitional stage, with people buying TV sets for the style statement rather than the entertainment value. Nevertheless, TVs are still being manufactured and people who are addicted to binge-watching on big screens will buy them irrespective of scrolling video content on mobile phones simultaneously.

Having said that, it is certain that major TV brands are going all in with AI integration at CES 2025. But beyond the AI capabilities, TV companies will also look forward to offering brighter OLEDs, improved QNEDs, and affordable Mini-LED TVs. LG seems to be the first manufacturer to have dropped a hint about what the South Korean company might have in store for the grandest tech event of the year. The company recently announced its 2025 QNED evo series it will exhibit at CES in a few weeks from now. “The QNED lineup offers true wireless viewing experience that transmits 4K 144Hz images without loss of picture quality or delay,” LG states.

As reported by Digital Trends, the revamped series will use ‘Dynamic QNED Color’, a new proprietary technology, replacing the need for quantum dots. To put that into perspective, LG’s QNED TVs are LCD-based and use a combination of quantum dot and NanoCell technologies with Mini LED backlighting. Now that LG sans Quantum Dots, it would be interesting to see how the evo line-up can achieve the level of performance its predecessor did.

While there is ambiguity in the media whether the 2025 QNED evo line-up will use the a8 AI processor; various sources suggest that QNED9M will instead include the a9 AI 4K Gen8 processor. As of now, LG has announced its flagship QNED9M QNED TV, which assembes all of the best features on offer in a premium LG TV, including Zero Connect Box and True Wireless 4K technology, a feature previously exclusive only to the company’s OLED M-Series TVs.

“This expansion allows viewers to enjoy high-definition 4K content wirelessly, without compromising on picture quality or experiencing delays, moving beyond the limitations of traditional wired connections,” states the company. While LG is yet to disclose the entire CES line-up, Tech Radar did some scouring and noted LG QNED99, LG QNED99, LG QNED85, and LG QNED82 to be on exhibition at CES 2025. These TVs will range between 40 to 100 inches in size. However, the exact size, price, and availability are yet to be disclosed.

That’s not all, the 2025 QNED evo series will come with a new AI Magic Remote that includes a button for easy analysis of viewing preferences and recommendations on what to watch and which apps to use. With considerable improvement LG has made in its TV line-up, we expect it to compete with the likes of Samsung QLEDs, and TVs Hisense and TCL have been teasing for quite some time now.
