Besides its regular reveals, Austrian company Pro-Ject Audio Systems frequently collaborates with famous musicians and artists worldwide. The partnerships reveal special edition turntables that are not only eye-catching but also deliver refined analog playback. After the immense success with Pink Floyd, Rolling Stone, and Metallica, in the past, the company has now announced a new limited-edition AC/DC-themed turntable.

The latest release feels like a natural next step, especially when you consider the bold aesthetic and rebellious approach of the band it celebrates. To put that into context, the AC/DC turntable features a black MDF plinth supported by three spiked feet, which, What Hi-Fi suggests, helps “reduce unwanted vibrations and provide stability for your records.”

Poised on the plinth is a transparent acrylic sub-platter that illuminates from within by a fiery red LED. The sub-platter bears a lightning bolt, a symbol audiophiles relate with AC/DC. The design is further enhanced by a solid circular red glass platter that sits atop the plinth.

The turntable is equipped with a pre-adjusted Ortofon 2M Red MM cartridge for impeccable sound reproduction. A unique 8.6-inch acrylic tonearm keeps the cartridge in place while the record spins. Akin to the sub-platter, the tonearm’s design also mimics the famous lightning bolt logo that AC/DC is known for, adding a nice touch of flair to this already killer setup.

As per Gear Patrol, the turntable comes with Pro-Ject’s Connect It phono RCA cable, which is required to be connected to an external phono preamp or an integrated amplifier, as the turntable doesn’t have one built-in.

The special edition turntable has a price, but Pro-Ject has not revealed the number it would be limited to. According to the company, this powerhouse turntable is available for £1149 / €1299 (about $1400), a price that feels in the range of diehard AC/DC fans and audiophiles.
