Phil is a poet by profession and lives in a simple and cozy tiny house with his pet hound, Billy Blue. Though Phil’s tiny house is simple, it is a reflection of all the things he treasures in life, which are books and his constant, loyal companion. Phil loves writing, imagining, and reflecting about life, and his home has been built to strengthen and encourage these aspects of his personality. The compact house is anything but boring: It incorporates a compact bedroom, en-suite bathroom, and a larger-than-life living room and kitchen, where every corner comes alive with books and poetry.

Unlike other tiny houses, the entrance leads into Phil’s small bedroom with a single king-size bed, an extensive wardrobe, and storage for his and Billy Blue’s belongings. There is artwork on the wall, personalizing the space. Billy Blue has his cozy bed to snuggle up in. The en-suite bathroom is a simple and small space. However, it is fitted with everything that Phil needs, including a shower, toilet, vanity sink, and some basic storage.

Now, we enter into the heart and soul of Phil’s tiny house, his grand and simply enchanting living room that takes up most of the space. Every corner is filled with a scent of paper, and wherever the eyes go, the magic of books comes through. Being in the space feels like stepping into Phil’s fictional mind, where nothing but stories thrive.

Most of the space is dedicated to his stunning collection of books, from limited editions to worn-out classics and rare collector copies. For any book lover, it is truly a haven. In this living room, Phil has a large table at the center and his green recliner armchair, adding a subtle warmth to the space. For him, the chair is his comfort space, where he does most of his writing, reading, and traveling to countless places through the pages of his books without leaving the room.

The kitchen is an extension of the living room and has a generous bench space. It is outfitted with cabinets, a pantry, and everyday appliances, such as a refrigerator, cooktop, microwave, and coffee maker, making cooking an easy task. The living room also has a door, leading out onto the balcony.

Though Phil describes himself as a recluse, he lives in a beautiful community, surrounded by his family, looking after him. He is a larger-than-life character who resonates with every reader, and Phil’s tiny house is a reminder that the richness of life is not always found in the grandest of things.

Sometimes it’s a simple turn of the page, and a house full of books, love, and art is what makes life complete and fulfilling. The total amount he invested in this home is around $98,000, and it’s worth every penny.
