The hardest problem while manufacturing a tiny home isn’t building small. It’s making the small feel comfortably livable. Kansas-based manufacturer Made Relative Tiny Homes has cracked that balance with the Elderberry tiny house, a 30-foot-long dwelling that manages to feel genuinely spacious without sprawling beyond a 320-square-foot footprint.
Built on a triple-axle trailer, the Elderberry tiny house features cedar siding with white metal accenting and a roof. The triple-axle foundation provides added stability during towing while supporting the weight of a fully furnished interior.
Speaking of interior, it boasts 320 square feet of space and is finished in white shiplap and birch, with eleven windows throughout to maximize natural light. Despite such a compact footprint, the Elderberry packs a surprisingly capable interior into its compact footprint, including a living area with a home office, two lofts, and a spacious central kitchen.
Access to the interior is gained via a glass entrance that welcomes you to the living room of the house. The living room includes a custom-made sofa convertible into a guest sleeping area, an elm bookcase, an entertainment center, and a small integrated home office with a desk, chair, and shelving.
Adjacent to the living room is the kitchen. It is equipped with a propane-powered four-burner stove and oven, a sink, a fridge/freezer, and ample cabinetry, with an oak countertop and a large matching breakfast bar dining area. A little ahead is the bathroom. The bathroom is relatively roomy given the home’s modest dimensions, featuring a large walk-in shower with a built-in seating bench, a flushing toilet, a vanity sink, and a dedicated laundry area with an oak countertop and space for washer/dryer installation.

Similar to other tiny house builders, Made Relative Tiny Homes has outfitted the interior with two lofts. The main bedroom loft is reached by a storage-integrated staircase with a small landing, and the space has a double bed with a low ceiling and modest built-in storage. The second loft sits above the living room, accessed by a removable wooden ladder. It is well-suited for use as storage, a hobby room, or an additional bedroom.
The tiny home features a gaggle of floating shelves and storage to house books and other accessories. As is the case with most mobile homes, Elderberry tiny house meets its power and water demand via an RV-style hookup.
