There is an interesting development going on in the tiny house industry. The market is shifting from houses on wheels to studio-style mobile homes, which has increased demand for dwellings that offer both rental potential and portability at low cost. One notable example is the Cub tiny house on wheels, a studio-style micro-dwelling designed by the Australian manufacturer CozyCo Tiny Homes.

While specific dimensions of the tiny house aren’t explicitly listed on the website, it is marketed as a compact model within the CozyCo Tiny Homes’ range. Simple in concept, the Cub offers a refreshing take on modern tiny house design. The studio-style dwelling is designed to function as a private retreat for couples, extra space for elderly family members, a home office, a guest suite, or a creative studio.

The Cub’s exterior features a combination of durable aluminium and timber-look panels, creating a clean, architectural aesthetic. The tiny house is equipped with large double-glazed windows that flood the interior with natural light while improving energy efficiency. Inside, lightweight VJ panelling and R2.5 insulation keep the space comfortable year-round, supported by gas hot water and air conditioning.

Poised on a triple-axle trailer, this mobile studio home features an open-plan layout that makes the most of every square inch. Entry is through glass doors that open directly into the living area, immediately giving the space an airy, welcoming feel. The main living area comfortably accommodates a double bed, separate lounge seating, and plenty of clever built-in storage.

Owners can also opt for custom joinery, such as a full-height closet, floating shelves, or a compact desk. Adjacent to the living room is a private ensuite bathroom complete with a shower, conventional toilet, and vanity, finished with premium tapware and subtle LED lighting.

On the downside, there is no kitchen in the dwelling. The Cub totally relies on a nearby main house for kitchen facilities, but its flexible design leaves room for future additions if needed. There is no word yet on exact pricing, but as the smallest model in the CozyCo lineup, the Cub is expected to come in well below $70,000.
