These days, celebrity homes are landing on the market for sale, one after another. Each home bears the mark of every owner it has had. The latest to hit the market is Hollywood starlet Angelina Jolie’s 1920 LA estate, now up for grabs for $30 million. With a rich Hollywood history, the home has changed ownerships from one celebrity to another since it was built, lending it a distinct character and charm.
Dating back to 1913, the two-acre property is located in the celebrity-filled Laughlin Park enclave of Los Feliz. It was acquired by pioneering filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille in 1916 for $28,000. DeMille merged the home with the neighboring Dodd residence (Charlie Chaplin’s former home), combining the two properties with a glass corridor.
Later, the home was owned by novelist Richard Grossman and art consultant Lisa Lyons, who sold it to Jolie in 2017 for $25.5 million. With the political climate in the US, Jolie is thinking of moving out of the country and has put her expansive home on the market after living in it for nearly a decade. Loughlin Park has been home to many A-list Hollywood stars, including Natalie Portman, David Fincher, Kristen Stewart, Ellen Pompeo, Kristen Bell, and many others.
Jolie’s LA home offers 11,000 square feet of interior space, fitting in six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. The home is split between the Italian Revival main house, the guest house, pool house, fitness studio, garage, and a tea house. The grounds are home to century-old trees, rolling lawns, dense greenery, and high walls, offering park-like spacious terraces. The property offers views of the Hollywood Hills and Griffith Park Observatory, and a swimming pool in the center.

The interior is light-filled thanks to a ton of windows, arches, balconies, verandahs, and louvered patios that create the perfect balance of light and shadow, perfectly embodying the biophilic design. Outside, the property is dotted with plenty of outdoor lounges to host gatherings and spend time under the shadow of trees.
The legendary estate marks a once-in-a-generation chance to own a piece of Hollywood history. The high-walled estate, originally conceived in 1913 by architect B. Cooper Corbett, has served as a cornerstone of Hollywood’s architectural and cultural legacy. Angelina Jolie’s LA estate is up for sale on Sotheby’s Realty and can be yours for $29,850,000.
