The globally renowned English musician Sting’s former Manhattan Penthouse is back on the market for $45 million. Located on the 16th and 17th floors within the house tower at 15 Central Park West, New York, Sting’s former Manhattan Penthouse feels like a serene sanctuary masterpiece. Its calm geometrical aesthetics and natural monochromatic color palette create a warm minimalism, providing visual silence and sensory reset amid the chaotic metropolis setting.

Sting bought the two floors in the 15 Central Park West complex, built by Robert A.M. Stern for $27 million. The Grammy-winning, legendary musician, together with his wife Trudie Styler, hired Lee F. Mindel from SheltonMindel to reimagine the interior of the duplex with several sculptural architectural elements. The couple later sold their home to a buyer for $50 million.

The timeless façade of the expansive residence reveals a luxurious modern interior. The spacious interior has a neutral, earth-toned color palette with a light wooden floor that softly diffuses natural light and brightens the space. The off-white and cream-colored walls and sectionals make the interior feel like an airy canvas, which makes the framed views of Central Park, the Manhattan skyline, and the Hudson River stand out.

Stretching over 5,400 square feet, Sting’s former Manhattan Penthouse welcomes visitors through a large gallery in the entrance foyer with a sculptural spiraled staircase. The residence includes four bedrooms, two powder rooms, and four full bathrooms.

The spacious living room on the 16th floor opens a 400-square-foot terrace, topped with a protective canopy and secured with designer metal railings. The terrace extends the living space outdoors, while the sculptural Fibonacci fireplace acts like a divider between the living room and dining room without obstructing the open flow.

If you like to read in a quiet, enclosed space, you can go to the library room across the dining room. The curved club chairs and plants in the media room create a grounded, nest-like space that feels relaxing and calm. The media room leads to the streamlined kitchen with an all-white interior, featuring top-tier appliances and a Viking range. It has a beautiful marbled eat-in-island in the center, an elevator, and a spiral staircase leading to the upper floor.

The 17th floor includes a private residential area. It includes a primary suite with four bedrooms, a children’s playroom, a walk-in closet, and two luxurious spa-style baths with glazing. One of these baths has a refreshing sauna, while the other one has a soaking bathtub. Two additional bathroom located elsewhere include their own en-suite bathrooms. The fourth bedroom, currently used as an office, is present on this floor.

Sting’s former Manhattan Penthouse is more of a serene sanctuary than a simple two-story duplex. The neutral, earthy tones combined with organic curves like the Fibonacci spiral fireplace and sculptural staircase create a deeply calming and harmonious interior. The way the architect made a clear distinction between the private and public spaces makes the upper floor appear like a private retreat away from the noisy, chaotic metropolis.

The property is listed for $45 million with Douglas Elliman real estate agents, Michael Lorber and Alexander Boriskin. If you can fork up that much money and would like to reside in your favorite rock singer’s old home, now’s a golden chance.
