Asus Republic of Gamers has announced the ROG Gjallar, described as “a premium, compact gaming soundbar.” It features a 2.1.2 channel configuration with full-range drivers, tweeters, up-firing channels, and a 5G wireless subwoofer to create a realistic 3D soundstage. With support for Dolby Atmos surround sound, it becomes even more ideal for players seeking high audio clarity in games.
The Gjallar comprises a soundbar unit with four 2-inch full-range drivers and two1-inch tweeters that deliver a frequency response of 50Hz-20kHz. There is also a separate 6.5-inch 5G wireless subwoofer unit that offers a working frequency response of 5.180-5.825GHz. This combination delivers a balanced listening experience with great clarity that helps in noticing enemy footprints with precision and adds impactful bass to explosions and other effects for full immersion.
The gaming soundbar also includes an all-in-one audio control hub that gives you access to EQ settings, playback controls, input source selection, and RGB lighting. It has a small LCD display that allows gamers to toggle between input sources and switch between EQ profiles optimized for gaming, music, or movies.
They can also use the web-based Gear Link PC tool or the mobile app to fine-tune EQ, adjust microphone settings, and lighting to create personalized listening experiences. You can turn off the up-firing speaker effect via Gear Link or Gear Link Mobile, or fine-tune the subwoofer level from -10 dB to +6 dB to enhance bass impact.
The audio control hub also houses the built-in Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) microphones that filter out teammate voices and in-game sounds from the speakers to ensure clear communication. The microphones are further enhanced by an AI beamforming algorithm to suppress ambient noises like PC fans and system hum.

The Gjallar connects via USB-C, HDMI 2.1 with eARC, optical, AUX, and Bluetooth 5.3, allowing users to switch between PC, Mac, mobile devices, and PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch consoles. Suitable for competitive gaming, it supports 4K@120Hz pass-through via HDMI 2.1 while eARC ensures lossless, high-resolution audio and perfectly synced, low-latency visuals.
There is also a built-in USB hub with two USB Type-A ports to connect wireless dongles, external storage, and other peripherals. Lastly, a built-in RGB lighting system makes it easy to create a visually attractive gaming setup.
The soundbar unit measures 607 x 92 x 82 mm (23.8 x 3.6 x 3.2 inches), while the subwoofer unit is bigger, with dimensions of 125 x 315 x 356 mm (4.9 x 12.4 x 14 inches). Asus has not revealed any details about pricing and availability of the ROG Gjallar yet, so buyers have to wait until it arrives on the market.
