Ana White, famous for her space-friendly tiny houses and creative woodworking plans, is a source of inspiration for others willing to build beautiful things on their own. Her latest DIY project is this unique wooden chair that retracts forward turning into a bed. She has created two of these sleeper chairs for her guest room.

Consisting of two boxes with hinges to flip, it functions like a convertible sofa bed. Simply take the cushions aside and bring the upper box forward on the floor and turn the chair into a bed outrightly. There are compartments in each box to store bedding and other small things. This kind of transforming furniture is ideal for small spaces, apartments and even tiny homes.

She has spent close to $150 in making the sleeper chair a decorative and functional piece of furniture. If you have woodworking skills and what to try this, the plans are available for free on Ana White Blog.
