Aqara might not be as popular as other smart home giants, but it is powered by a passionate team dedicated to making smart homes intuitive and accessible for everyone. They are among the few companies actively championing the Matter protocol with an aim to bring together all smart home platforms under one roof. Their standout launches include the beloved Aqara HomeKit series and a budget-friendly Matter-over-Thread hub that few competitors currently provide with both technologies built in. As of April 2025, Aqara now offers smart locks, doorbells, and over 50 Matter-compatible devices to simplify home automation.
For those excited about Aqara’s latest innovations, the company will unveil a range of smart home products at IFA 2025. The new Aqara products include the Doorbell Camera G400 (wired) for enhanced security, the energy-efficient Radiator Thermostat W600, the H2 series of wall outlets and smart plugs for the EU and UK markets, and the versatile Hub M200 for seamless interoperability. In addition, the company will present updates to its Aqara Home platform and HomeGuardian cloud services to offer a more intuitive user experience.
Keep reading to know more about these new solutions designed to enhance security, comfort, and energy efficiency by leveraging ubiquitous sensors and AI.
Smart Home Security
Apart from the recently launched Hub G410 video doorbell, Aqara currently offers the G4 wireless video doorbell, known for its no-subscription-required design, 1080p video quality, two-way audio, and seamless integration with smart home platforms like Apple HomeKit. Now, the company is expanding its smart home security portfolio with the new Doorbell Camera G400 (wired), designed for continuous surveillance.
The IP65-rated G400 can be powered via PoE or low voltage (8-24V AC/DC) and features a 2K sensor with head-to-toe coverage. It includes cloud AI for face, package, vehicle, and animal detection, along with on-device motion and person detection. Like other Aqara doorbells, the G400 integrates smoothly with Apple HomeKit Secure Video, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, and Home Assistant, and offers flexible cloud and local storage options.
Aqara will also present two home surveillance prototypes, including its first battery-operated outdoor camera. The all-new G510 Camera features a built-in solar panel, 10,400 mAh battery, 2.5K resolution (2560×1440), color night vision, and on-device AI capabilities for person, vehicle, and package detection.
The second prototype release is the M410 Home Station, which is a multi-functional IoT hub designed to serve as a central node for home security. As a hub for Aqara cameras, it enhances the cameras’ range and battery life while offering high-capacity local storage that can be expanded with HDD, SSD, or microSD card for 24/7 video recording. The M410 also doubles as a Matter hub, allowing you to connect Aqara and other third-party Matter devices.
Energy Efficiency
Aqara offers the Smart Radiator Thermostat E1 as its primary model, specifically designed for radiator heating control, but this sole model has been joined by the W600 Radiator Thermostat that supports both Thread and Zigbee connectivity for enhanced smart home integration and precision control. This thermostat allows users to optimize indoor climate with smart schedules, automations, or intuitive controls via mobile apps, virtual assistants, or a connected Climate Sensor W100. Compared to its predecessor, the W600 features an extended battery life of two years and broader compatibility with RA, RAV, RAVL, Caleffi, Giacomini, and M28×1.5 valves.
Aqara is also expanding its H2 series of power management devices for the EU and UK markets. This includes the Wall Outlet H2 UK with a fast-charging USB-C port, the Power Plug H2 available in the EU and UK versions, and the IP44-rated Outdoor Plug H2 EU for better weather resistance. A prototype of the Power Strip H2 EU will also be displayed at the event. These products feature Thread/Zigbee dual-protocol support, Matter compatibility for future-proof interoperability, and power monitoring capabilities, which allow for energy consumption-triggered automations in the Aqara smart home ecosystem.
Matter Hub
Aqara will also be launching the M200 Hub, a multi-protocol solution that serves as a Matter Controller, Thread Border Router, Matter bridge for Aqara Zigbee devices, and a 360-degree IR blaster. With Thread, Zigbee, dual-band Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth, and infrared support, the M200 can integrate Aqara products, IR-compatible gadgets, and over 50 types of Matter-enabled devices into a unified smart home system.
Aqara Home & HomeGuardian Cloud Service Updates
Aqara Home
Apart from new product launches, Aqara is introducing major updates to its Aqara Home platform and HomeGuardian cloud services. The Aqara Home now features a virtual sensor that uses data from existing devices such as contact, motion, and presence sensors in combination with AI models to provide more accurate room occupancy detection. You can easily create this sensor by selecting the relevant devices in a room.
Furthermore, the new Automation 2.0 engine makes creating complex automations easier by using advanced WHEN-IF-THEN logic. You can also control several things at once, like turning off all the lights or closing the curtains with just one command. Additionally, the local app control via LAN allows devices connected to edge hubs like the Hub M3 to be controlled even without internet for a more reliable smart home experience.
HomeGuardian
Aqara’s cameras now combine powerful cloud AI detection to enhance home security and convenience. They can identify faces, packages, animals, vehicles, and flames, enabling proactive threat alerts and context-aware responses. Using Vision-Language Models, the cameras also create short video summaries and let you search your recordings by asking in plain language. Plus, the push notifications you get include pictures from the camera, so that you can quickly see what is happening without opening the app.
