Ashley Tiny House Features the Most Unusual Loft Layouts and Ground-Floor Bedroom

Plenty of scope for imagination and storage, ‘cause you need to have both in a tiny house

Texan builder Indigo River Tiny Homes has a wonderful way of designing its models. Not only does the manufacturer see to it that you get the house of your dreams, but also don’t have to compromise on luxury despite switching to a downsized footprint. One excellent example of it is the recently built Ashley tiny house. The 36-foot-long custom micro-dwelling has one of the most unusual loft layouts you have seen. The Ashley has a ground-floor bedroom, a living room, a bathroom, a full kitchen, and a huge loft.

What is unusual is that the loft is entered through the private main-floor bedroom. There is plenty of scope for imagination and storage because you need to have both when living in a tiny house. The Ashley is 8.5-foot-wide and 13.5-foot-high, which offers big enough space to raise a family in.

Based on a triple-axle trailer, the builder has fashioned the Ashley on its popular Pioneer layout. Although the interior is minimalistic, it is equipped with luxurious features that marry comfort and style.

The exterior has a standing seam metal and timber siding with a two-tone gray and white paint. There is a 2-foot-deep storage shed at the rear to stash outdoor gear or water pumps and such tools. Inside, the 306-square-foot footprint has an open layout for the living area, dining space, and kitchen.

The living room has a sofa, coffee table, an electric fireplace, and a minimalist entertainment center. There is also a fold-down dining area with foldable chairs.

Adjacent is the kitchen. It has purple cabinets offset by white quartz countertops. The kitchen has a refrigerator, dishwasher, farmhouse sink, and open wood shelving. It doesn’t have a cooktop, since the client wanted to use an induction cooktop and countertop air fryer or oven. A wide ledge storage runs along the entire space.

Down the hall from the kitchen is the bathroom. It has a dual-flush toilet with a heater seat (that’s new), a shower cabin, a vanity sink, and a space for a washer/dryer. There is space for corner shelves and a towel rack as well.

The bedroom is at the end of the hall and is accessible via a pocket door. The bedroom has standing height, a queen-size bed, a large window, a cabinet for storage, and three separate built-in dog kennels under the bed.

From here a storage-integrated staircase leads to the huge loft. The loft has a stand-up landing with a tall wardrobe, space for a double mattress, and plenty of storage space. It can also be used as a home office since the room is spacious.

As the house was custom-made, the price of the Ashley tiny house is unknown. However, given other Indigo River models, estimate it to be over $149,000.
