The 64th edition of Salone del Mobile served us the best of the design world in a week-long shindig. Apart from furniture and kitchen design, the International Bathroom Exhibition is renowned as a leading venue for bath design and manufacturers, where everything from furniture and sanitary ware to radiators and taps is exhibited.
This year, the bathrooms section of the fair is set to include 163 exhibitors from 14 countries, all placing a strong emphasis on “Home Spa” experiences and the emotional factor. Color-driven design and biophilic textures have also secured a prime spot in the bath design industry. From sculptural washbasins and bathtubs to bathroom furnishings and surfaces, here are 10 of the best bathroom designs that seamlessly captured these strategies at the 2026 Milan Design Week.
Joe Colombo Faucet by Mamoli
This faucet is a part of a collection that pays homage to the great Masters of Italian design, now expanded to include the visionary designer Joe Colombo. His futuristic sculptural and modular vision of a “living machine” to simplify and revolutionize daily life is translated into a contemporary vision. The historical context of these pieces makes them truly stand out in the event.
Antoniolupi’s Skyline Floorstanding Washbasin
Modern bathrooms are getting architectural forms, and Antoniolupi’s oversized marble washbasin is a great example. Each unit comprises three flat or angled surfaces at different heights to create a central bowl to collect water. The straight lines and layered composition make it look like an origami of stone.
Kohler Reverie Bathtub
Showcased at The Flamingo Estate Bathhouse by Kohler at Milan Design Week 2026, the new Kohler Reverie bathtub, crafted from a cast iron core with hand-applied interior enamel and exterior copper cladding, serves as the focal point of the space. The shroud wraps the cast iron bath, which is made with at least 80 percent recycled materials to carry the sustainability craftsmanship flag. Kohler has used copper as a defining material in bath design for the first time. The bathtub is designed in a minimalist way to focus only on the essential experience of bathing, without unnecessary extras.
New Kartell Collection by LAUFEN
At the Salone del Mobile 2026, LAUFEN redefines the bathroom space under the creative direction of Ferruccio Laviani. At the core of this project is VITREON steel, a new material innovation that expands the expressive scope of the earlier collection launched 13 years ago, with an expanded range of colors and finishes. Laviani has also introduced the new beauTwash bathroom cabinet inspired by the shape of the letter T, and reinterpreted a Kartell design classic, the Componibile by Anna Castelli Ferrieri, as a column washbasin with integrated storage. The stand also showcases the PAR bathroom concept developed in collaboration with Konstantin Grcic.
AXOR Archivio by Barber Osgerby
This new bathroom collection reimagines archival forms and classical details for today’s interiors. The most unique you will find is the bloom-like cross handles with white inlays, curved spouts, bell-shaped bases, and sculptural lever handles that invite the user to touch. The AXOR Archivio collection includes a washbasin, bathtub, and shower in a variety of installation types. Soft silhouettes, flowing contours, and refined accents are the main components of its design philosophy.
Patricia Urquiola’s Balcoon-Scapes
Duravit and Patricia Urquiola have collaborated for the Balcoon-Scapes sculptural installation at Milan Design Week, which translates the characteristic design language of Balcoon series into a spatially staged context. Washbasins and floor-standing toilets do not serve their original purpose here; rather, they are presented as totem-like elements. The most compelling feature is two custom-made toilets: one featuring a fur-like texture, the other with a structured concrete layer. Duravit will also be presenting an exclusive preview of the new items in the 2026 Balcoon collection.
Mediterranean Rituals by Roca Designed by Mesura
Designed by the Barcelona-based architecture studio Mesura, this pavilion showcases Roca’s innovative collections within a spatial concept shaped by Mediterranean living. There are different areas where materials, light, and proportion shape the environment. The project also features a central staircase to represent the connection between the interior and exterior. Here, you can find the Verso modular bathroom storage pieces, L20 black faucets, and Avant toilet with integrated cistern, complemented by lighting solutions for a multi-sensorial experience.
Three Elements, One Matter by Kengo Kuma
The renowned architect, Kengo Kuma, has defined his approach to a ceramic surface through the Three Elements, One Matter project at Salone 2026. Created in collaboration with Ceramica Francesco De Maio, these special ceramic surfaces translate the visual beauty of Rain, Mist, and Earth through a combination of contemporary research and the tradition of hand-decorated Vietri maiolica. The fluid movement of Rain is interpreted with hand-painted brushstrokes, while Mist is characterized by light strokes. The third element, Earth, gives a tactile feeling as if shaped by the wind.
GROHE SPA’s Aqua Sanctuary
GROHE SPA has transformed the Piccolo Teatro Studio Melato for a multisensory installation dedicated to the brand’s ethos of “Wellbeing through Water” across three interconnected sanctums. Water is the main character here, utilizing light, shadow, materiality, and sound to create an immersive experience. The installation unfolds across three interconnected sanctums, each reflecting a distinct state of being. Atrio Private collection, Grohtherm Aqua tiles, and Allure Gravity faucet collection, utilizing a circular material, are among the key product highlights at the installation. The space follows the design philosophy of treating water as an element that can shape spaces to cleanse, rejuvenate, and relax.
Design Continuum by Villeroy & Boch Group
Villeroy & Boch and Ideal Standard, in collaboration with Studio Elastique, have presented the Design Continuum immersive installation at Milan Design Week 2026. The booth focused on creating a multi-sensorial experience with light, projections, textures, and scents. The exhibition showcased a wide array of consumer bathroom products from both brands. A prototype of Antao 3D monolithic basin, which uses 100 percent recycled material, and Antao Earth basin with reactive glazing are among the notable highlights.
Ceramics Forged in Light by Snøhetta and VitrA
This installation explores the lifecycle of ceramic shaped by light, water, and time. Materials, smells, and sounds are used to create a calm, immersive experience where ordinary objects feel meaningful. Circular production plays an important role as the showcase features Nova Vita recycled tile collection and recycled ceramic washbasin. Recycling ceramics is indeed a great feat, which opens up new scopes for material transformation in the design world.
