You must have seen a lot of tiny houses on wheels but have you ever seen a tiny house that floats? Well, here is one that is a completely off-grid floating tiny house set up on the shore of a small lake. It is designed to be used in all four seasons. Floating tiny house is 35 feet long and 12 feet wide with spacious interiors. The outside of the house has a minimalist contemporary design with cedar siding and black metal accents that provide a nice contrast with the alpine surroundings.

Operated by Bora Boreal, this floating tiny home is located in Quebec, Canada at a pristine location. The structure is tied to the shore with metal cables at all four corners. The base of the floating home is made using PVC floats with foam inside them that keeps the house floating. As the house is off-grid, it uses two 250W solar panels that are used to charge six batteries providing for the power needs of this small structure.

The guests can access the floating tiny house using a narrow suspended bridge that leads to a covered deck where occupants can enjoy outdoor barbeque sessions. As you enter the house through a door from the patio, you are invited to a spacious living room with comfortable seating. The modular sofas can be easily moved around to create various seating arrangements, while they can also convert into a queen-size bed for sleeping.

The floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room let residents enjoy the views of the lake and the surrounding forest and mountains. Amazingly, there is a full-size garage door that opens to make you feel like you are on a boat. All this makes the living room just the place where you would like to spend most of the time in this floating tiny house.

There is a wood stove that keeps you cozy during cold weather. There is also a firewood storage rack built next to the stove and for more wood guests can rely on wood stored at the shore. The floating home also features a secondary heating system that is powered by propane. The house is completely insulated to ensure the best experience for the guests.

The other end of the floating tiny home features a beautiful dining area, kitchen, bathroom, and a hidden loft bedroom. The kitchen has a small sink and considerable countertop space to prepare meals using a butane cooktop. There is ample storage for kitchen essentials and food. The counter houses a bar fridge that is powered by solar. As this floating tiny house is offered as a vacation rental there is a decent arrangement of fresh water and there are reservoirs to collect gray water that is later emptied into a septic tank built on the property.

The dining area has a table, chairs, and a large L-shaped bench. Above the bench, are high-gloss black cabinets for storage. The guests can enjoy the views outside while dining as there are many windows here just like the living room. The ceiling above the dining area serves as the floor of the loft bedroom and it has been created using a metal grill to allow light to enter from the top as well. For nighttime, there is decorative lighting that adds a bit of colorfulness to the otherwise minimalist interiors of this floating home.

A sliding door at the end opens to the bathroom that features a separate urine-diverting toilet. Sadly, there is no shower as water management is a challenge since the structure floats on the lake. The guests need to access the shower in a separate building near the lake.

The loft bedroom can be accessed using a pull-down attic ladder that is integrated into the ceiling. It is made using metal thus ensuring robustness and safety for the guests. Though it is kind of cumbersome to use such kind of a ladder, it allows guests to enjoy the open layout of the main floor when the loft bedroom is not being used. The loft bedroom has a queen-sized bed and a small night table. It doesn’t have space to stand but the ceiling is built at an angle to allow residents to access the loft easily. Though small this part of the tiny house also offers you great views of the outdoors.

When guests choose to spend their time at this floating home they get a chance to live by the lake. Bora Boreal offers them an unparalleled experience of indulging with nature and wildlife around. There is provision to enjoy time on the shore using picnic table and custom welded fire pit.

The property also offers access to nice walking trails in the vicinity. There is also a small beach and swimming area close by that presents a great opportunity for guests to have an enjoyable time during nice weather. The property keepers even open a skating rink for guests during winter. Bora Boreal eco-resort offers two floating houses for guests at this location in Quebec.
