petWALK – a pet door company in Austria, has presented the world’s first fully connected pet door at CES 2018.  It’s designed to meet the standard of a passive house. The pet door can be controlled via remote, mobile devices and web browsers. With a simple tap, you can open or close the door. It can also open via transponder (RFID technology) which can be implanted under your pet’s skin.

Priced at €1,595 (approx. $1,930) petWALK is a vault-like insulated door that is secure and airtight. The insulation and sealing quality not only keep your home secure from burglary but also keeps it noise-free. The door connects to the alarm system to burglarproof your home. It can be installed on any wall, glass or door of your home. The door closes softly so that pets don’t get stuck or injured while using it.

The best thing is you don’t need to give special training to your pets to use the door. It looks like an ordinary pet door, allowing your pets to gradually adapt to the newly-found freedom. It is available in different sizes and colors.

petWALK at a glance:

  • Tamperproof with built-in alarm system
  • Safe and secure with RFID technology
  • Fully automatic
  • Thermal insulated
  • Rain sensor to prevent dirty paws in the house
  • Contactless access control system

The door can be plugged into the power socket, however, the onboard battery backup ensures your pet is not stuck outside during bad weather conditions during the power failure. petWAlk will soon integrate smart features like Alexa and Nest-compatibility in coming days.
