Advancements in technology is having a vast impact on the furniture design industry, resulting in innovative furniture pieces that follow some distinctive conception, materiality, and usability scenarios. Case in point CUBA, an elegant collection of furniture that seamlessly adapts to how it’s being used. Created by London-based design studio Joyride, this is world’s first responsive furniture that is ideal for modern working environments. These furniture units are designed to be space-saving, versatile and elegant – perfect for the future.

According to the official website, these are multi-functional chairs, tables and stools that can seamlessly integrate with each other for easy and planned storage. Both the seating and surfaces are designed as a single unit. Mobility is an important consideration for these furniture pieces. With a hoverbase, a user can easily slide the chairs from one place to another.

The CUBA seating comes in three different styles – stool, Chool (a kind of stool with hidden backrest) and a chair (fixed backrest). The Chool adopts the best features from stool and chair. It features a hidden backrest that allows it to be docked under the table for a clean and organized look.

The backrest only comes up when a user sits on it and automatically retracts down when user leaves the seat. Multiple CUBA Chool units or stools can be organized in a straight line so that they can be used as a small bench.

The CUBA tables are also available in three styles – low fixed, height adjustable, and high fixed version. The height adjustable CUBA table is the most intriguing as users can adjust it according to their needs. This docking table is multi-functional – it can be used as a low table, dining table or a standing desk. Its intuitive control systems make the operation easy.

Both the CUBA Chool and CUBA Table make a well-intentioned combination that the company is selling as a Hubstation. The entire CUBA furniture collection is flexible and adaptive. It allows users to create spaces that are perfectly in tune with environment without compromises.

The pricing for smallest four-person electric adjustable CUBA Hubstation starts at £4,845 (about $6,320). While the CUBA Chool is priced at £649 ($846). There are various customization options available for buyers.
