DIY Bed Frame with Hidden Lighting Underneath

Want a bed with color-changing LED lights? Either you have the choice to buy it or make it on your own like the Imgur user Coltononushko who built a beautiful DIY bed frame for his bedroom. Despite minimal experience in woodworking, he designed a lavish bed and integrated LEDs underneath to improve the sleep experience. He also utilized space under the bed to store his photography gear.

The headboard of the earlier bed was kept intact, and the process started with connecting 12 x 2 pieces into a 5-ft long and 34-inch wide support box with strut framework. He rounded the edges so that they do not hurt the toes while getting over the bed. One-inch cut pieces of 2 x 4s were also added to the framework of the box for keeping it stable.

Thin pieces of an existing bed were smartly trimmed for using as slat support over the bed frame. He integrated color-changing lights under the bed and used RGB controller for ambiance variations. Finally, he stained the bed frame in black color which gave it a fantastic look. As you can see in the pictures, the geeky bed with changing lights looks cool.

No doubt people are sharing this awesome creation in the cloud. While some people are satisfied with its ambient appearance, others are trolling it for using as a bed for children who are scared of monsters coming out from underneath.

With hidden illuminating LEDs, this DIY bed frame looks like it is floating in the air. Lighting hidden under the bed has both functional and aesthetic features, adding a dramatic touch to the bedroom.

It is a great inspiration for people who love beds with built-in lighting or want to build a similar kind of furniture DIY for their homes.
