The current pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on groceries and food supplies. More and more people are now discovering the benefits of growing their own food at home. As a gardening enthusiast, you would presumably be growing potatoes – one of America’s most popular vegetables. But if you don’t own a garden it doesn’t mean you can’t grow potatoes or other vegetables for that matter.

Take a look at this wooden potato planter by Georgia-based Horizon Design Studios that will surely help you grow potatoes in a small space at home or even in the balcony. This raised potato planter measures approx. 28-inches high, 24-inches wide and 24-inches long. There is an opening at the bottom of the planter that makes it easy to harvest the potatoes.

Horizon Design Studios provides a downloadable PDF detail plan for building this planter. You can follow the instructions, arrange the required materials including wood slats, hinges, and latch and your planter is ready to sow some potatoes. With a building plan in the hand, a person with beginner DIY skills will be able to assemble the planter easily.

If you are interested in making a wooden potato planter for yourself, you can get the build plans for about $8 from Horizon Design Studios Etsy shop.
