Design Meets Art in NOOM’s Flock Furniture Collection

Cozy, soft and sculptural

When I last had a conversation with Kateryna Sokolova, she was busy unveiling the Gropius and Low chairs Military Edition at the London design festival. A couple of months later, the NOOM founder has now launched a brand new furniture collection which is dubbed Flock. While the Gropius chair was dressed in wartime camouflage, the case with the Flock furniture collection is a little different.

Comprising a lounge chair and an ottoman, the Flock furniture collection is an amalgamation of art and design. As per NOOM, the collection is inspired by the idea that home is a place of comfort, sanctuary, and gathering and should be filled with personalized, character-rich, and eye-catching statement objects.” We wanted to create furniture that would become part of the family, intimate and beloved,” said Kateryna Sokolova, who apparently is also the designer of the collection.

Both, flock lounge chair and ottoman are made of foam rubber, injection-molded soft foam, and textile. Poised on four wooden legs, the soft fabric used in the chair and the ottoman define the furniture’s relaxation and cuteness.

Boasting white color, it is a beautiful centerpiece for your home, featuring subtly curved artistic silhouettes. “We wanted to create objects that would become part of the family, intimate and beloved,” Sokolova added. The Flock lounge chair and ottoman are up for grabs at the official website of NOOM and will cost you around $3150 and $1840 respectively.
