If you want to upgrade your home cinema experience, choosing a Dolby Atmos soundbar is a simple and effective solution. While Samsung and Sonos are among the most popular brands in this niche, JBL has made a strong entry with the launch of its new Bar MK2 series. This lineup features five models, each designed to maximize the capabilities of Dolby audio technologies and deliver a truly immersive, three-dimensional cinematic soundscape.
Every soundbar in JBL’s new MK2 lineup supports Dolby Atmos in some way. The flagship Bar 1300MK2 and Bar 1000MK2 deliver true Dolby Atmos, while the other three models offer virtual Dolby Atmos. In the similar way, the Bar 1300MK2 and Bar 1000MK2 will support DTS:X at launch and the remaining models will receive DTS: Virtual X through a software update later this year.
All models come equipped with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and are Roon Ready. Each soundbar features HDMI eARC with 4K Dolby Vision passthrough for seamless connectivity. The JBL Dolby Atmos soundbars also introduce SmartDetails, a new HARMAN technology that lets you hear even the smallest sounds, like soft footsteps or creaking floorboards. An AI Sound Boost for powerful, distortion-free bass is limited to the flagship version.
At the top of the range, the JBL Bar 1300MK2 features dual 8-inch driver subwoofer and two detachable wireless speakers that deliver 2470W of output. With six up-firing drivers, it provides immersive Dolby Atmos and DTS:X 3D surround sound. The JBL Bar 1000MK2 offers a similar 3D audio experience in a more compact form, with two up-firing drivers, a 10-inch subwoofer, and detachable rear speakers.

The Bar 800MK2 and Bar 500MK2 both include a 10-inch subwoofer, but only the 800MK2 offers detachable wireless speakers. Lastly, the Bar 300MK2 is a single-unit soundbar that delivers 450W of power and strong bass without a separate subwoofer.
The JBL Bar MK2 range will launch in this month with the Bar 1000MK2, Bar 700MK2, Bar 500MK2, and Bar 300MK2. The flagship Bar 1300MK2 will follow later in October 2025 in the US and September 2025 in the UK, with prices ranging from $445 to $1,700.
