LG StanbyMe TV range has taken the on-the-go entertainment experience to new heights. In 2021, the South Korean company first introduced us to the battery-powered TV on a rollable stand and then created a Briefcase version of the TV you could take outdoors. Most recently, the company took portability a step further with a new StanbyME iteration unveiled a few months ago. This latest model allows users to fully detach the screen from its stand, enabling it to be placed freely or carried anywhere for an enhanced on-the-go viewing experience.
The all-new LG StanbyMe 2 features a 27-inch touchscreen display and comes with a specially designed strap that lets you carry it like a bag on your shoulder or hang it on a wall like a picture frame. It also includes a folio cover with a kickstand that allows you to place it like a tablet on a surface.
The StanbyME 2 has a built-in battery that allows you to run videos on it for up to four hours, without plugging into a power source. The battery can be easily recharged via the docking stand or by connecting a USB-C cable to an external charger or power bank.
The new version upgrades the picture resolution from 1080p to 1440p for clearer, sharper images. Each side of the TV features built-in speakers, and the sound automatically adjusts using EQ settings based on the screen’s orientation. The LG StanbyMe 2 uses the α (Alpha) 8 AI processor, which smartly improves picture quality depending on the room’s lighting and creates immersive virtual 9.1.2 surround sound. The TV also supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for a cinematic visual and audio experience.
It is equipped with the award-winning webOS TV platform to provide access to a wide variety of content streaming options, including LG Channels, or you can use the onboard HDMI port with eARC to connect a different media source. Furthermore, it supports Apple AirPlay and Google Cast for wireless content sharing, and integrates with LG ThinQ and Google Home for seamless smart home control. Other highlighting features are Mood Maker, magnetic remote control, and the sketch app Let’s Draw that allows users to draw and create art on the screen.

LG has made great improvements in the StanbyMe version 2 model, making it better than the earlier version. It can also serve like the Samsung Frame TV as you can display it like a picture frame or a clock on the wall, if you wish.
For its distinctive capabilities, the StanbyME 2 TV was honored with the iF Design Award and the Red Dot Design Award in 2025. It is rolling out globally over the next few months, starting from Hong Kong and Turkey this week. In July, it will become available in the U.S., Canada, Vietnam, and Singapore, while arriving in the UK, Germany, France, and Spain in August.
