Minimaliste has quite a fan base not just in Canada and the US, but all across the globe. And why not, they are after all considered one of the best tiny house manufacturers in the world. So we decided to hark back to one of the company’s oldest builds dubbed Thuya tiny house. It is a versatile and well-balanced model in terms of layout and design elements but the most intriguing aspect of the construction is the spaciousness it offers in a petite package.

Measuring 26 feet long, the tiny house is based on a triple-axle trailer. It comes finished in cedar with a Shou Sugi Ban profile thoroughly complimenting it. Upon entering the house you are graced by a living room that is equipped with a sofa. “The bright living area is combined with a dining area that can sit four people comfortably,” mentions the company.

Adjacent is the kitchen that is quite spacious and comes accoutered with all the necessary elements from fridge and oven to countertop and cabinets. “The kitchen includes all the necessary elements for short-term stays, but can also be suitable for full-time living,” Minimaliste states.

The standard interior boasts a white-painted engineered plywood siding for the walls and stained pine siding for the ceiling which adds a rustic charm to the house. Nearby the kitchen is the bathroom that features a toilet and a shower.

Located above the bathroom is the sole loft of the tiny house. It is accessible via a storage-integrated staircase and sleeps two people with ease. Furthermore, the bathroom offers space to incorporate a washer/dryer as well.

Costing $125,500, the Thuya tiny house may not be the best we have seen from Minimaliste. However, it is certainly a quite lucrative option if you are looking for a home that could withstand Canadian winters, courtesy of structural insulated panels offering a high level of airtightness, hence requiring less energy to maintain a steady indoor temperature.
