Canada-based Rolling Bear Tiny Homes may not be a very popular name in the downsizing industry yet, but the company has manufactured some beautiful and functional dwellings over the years. Case in point is the recently completed Koala Bear tiny house, which boasts a sophisticated and eco-friendly design.
Mounted on a double-axle trailer, the tiny house measures 26 feet long and 8.6 feet wide. The biggest USP of the Koala Bear tiny house is that it doesn’t try to outshine other dwellings on the market and stays true to its philosophy of small and simple, making it an ideal fit for solo dwellers or couples who prefer the freedom of the open road.
The tiny house exterior features black metal paneling, pine log trim, and painted fiber cement siding for a rugged yet refined look. Inside, the mobile home boasts shiplap walls, exposed wooden beams, and generous natural light from multiple windows, creating a cozy, cabin-like atmosphere that punches above its weight.
From a furnishing standpoint, the sitting area accommodates a sofa and even makes room for a work-from-home nook with a fold-down desk and chair. Adjacent to the living space is a galley-style kitchen that is well-appointed for its size, featuring a double sink, a propane cooktop with oven, a fridge-freezer, and ample storage through both cabinetry and open shelving.
The bathroom, tucked behind a barn-style sliding door off the kitchen, offers more than you’d expect in such a compact footprint. It packs a composting toilet, vanity sink, and a full bathtub with shower, a rarity at this scale. Other features include live-edge wood detailing on the countertop and bath shelf, adding a handcrafted touch to the dwelling.
The Koala Bear tiny house features a single bedroom in the loft. A storage-integrated staircase leads up to the loft bedroom, which features a double bed beneath a low ceiling. A secondary loft above the living area provides additional storage.
Like most Canadian tiny homes, the Koala Bear tiny house draws power via a standard RV-style hookup.
